Broshuis introduces
a FLEX axle
Due to the overdue maintenance of Europe's infrastructure, lower axle loads are allowed on an increasing number of (inland) roads, bridges and overpasses. As a result, you can no longer get exemptions for certain routes with your combination, often requiring major detours. To ensure that you can continue to use your fleet as efficiently as possible, Broshuis introduces the innovative FLEX axle.
The FLEX axle is a 1- or 2-axle axle bogie that you can link between the dolly and the axle bogie of our pendulum axle semi low loaders. By adding a FLEX axle, you can reduce the axle loads in the permit (more axles for the same weight) when this is required for a particular route.
The FLEX axle is also useful if there is not always the need for a multi-axle dolly. The 'normal' transports can then be driven without the FLEX axle, and when needed, the FLEX axle can be placed. This increases the flexibility of your fleet. The first FLEX axles have now been sold, allowing the customer's 10-axle (3+7) PL2 semi low loaders to be converted into a 12-axle (3+2+7) PL2 semi low loaders.
The FLEX axle can be fitted to all new and existing heavy-duty pendulum axle semi low loaders (100T Range) from Broshuis. The unique shape of our compression joints makes fitting and removing the pin an easy job. Enabling you to (dis)connect the FLEX axle in as little as 15 minutes. This allows you to easily convert your combination to the required configuration for the load. Preparing your fleet for the future!
Technical specifications:
- Tare weight 1-axle ca. 3.2 t
- Tare weight 2-axle ca. 5.8 t

- Standard width 2,750 mm
- 245/70 R17.5 tires

The different components of our 100T Range provide for modular possibilities: the neck, dolly, axle bogie and the various options such as a spacer, additional beam and FLEX axle are linkable by default. This linkability also makes it easy to generate additional prestressment. Our 100T Range on pendulum axles consists of the single and double extendable 8-axle (2+6) and 10-axle (3+7) semi low loader. If required, these are of course also available in other configurations. With our FLEX axle(s), you can make the following configurations: 2+6; 2+1+6; 2+2+6; 3+7; 3+1+7; 3+2+7.
