WE ARE EXPANDING
WITH 40,000 M2!
On the 16th of May 2024, the purchase contract for 40,000 m² of land on Genuakade (Zuiderzeehaven) in Kampen, the Netherlands was officially been signed. Due to the enormous growth of our company, this expansion is necessary. On this special occasion, Mayor Sander de Rouwe and Alderman for Economic Affairs Bas Woning were present on behalf of the municipality of Kampen.
Pieter-Bas Broshuis, the 4th generation in the family business, put his signature on a special moment. Exactly 30 years ago, he took over the company from his father. "We can build on a bright and successful future with this land," says Pieter-Bas.
"Due to the enormous growth of the company, there was a shortage of space at our current location on the Industrieweg and we started looking at expanding our site. In good consultation together with the municipality, an agreement could be reached for the land located on Genuakade, Kampen, which is very near our current location. Due to the current grid congestion, we cannot yet build on this site in the short term. Therefore, for the time being, we will use the site for storage of finished trailers. The existing storage sites on our location on the Industrieweg can then be used to expand the halls at our main site. Due to the confidence of our customers, our sales are growing, especially with the increasing number of multi-axle trailers. In the future, with this expansion and our 100,000 m2 site on the Industrieweg, we can to serve our civil and project customers even better."
Employment
The cooperation between the municipality of Kampen and Broshuis has a long and warm history. Also with this project, which started in 2022. "Broshuis is a company that can offer a lot of employment opportunities. This is very important for a city like Kampen,” says Mayor Sander de Rouwe. "As a municipality, we also attach great value to supporting established companies in Kampen in their growth. Within the Netherlands, we have lost out on real industry for many years. We consider industry of great importance and want to set an example for the rest of the Netherlands with this."
Bas Woning, the Alderman for Economic Affairs, also stressed the importance of this. "As a municipality, we are proud that such a growing company is based in our city and with this expansion we can keep it here in Kampen. The company already has more than 500 employees and this is of great value to our city. How nice it is as a citizen of Kampen to work at this fine company."
