When to choose a 2CONnect or a MFCC HD chassis?
Often we receive the question “When should I choose a MFCC HD or a 2CONnect?”. For many transporters, this is a difficult choice. The key lies in the work you will be doing with it. In this blog, you will read about the different loading options and advantages of our chassis and which type of containers you can transport with them. This will help you to choose the chassis that best suits your activities. In addition, we give you a number of tips when purchasing a container chassis.
If you often transport 2 x 20FT containers whose content must be unloaded at a dock, then the 2CONnect is the best solution for you. The 2CONnect is our linkable container chassis, also known as a connectable chassis, and consists of two fully-fledged 20FT container chassis that can be separated from each other. The containers are both positioned with the doors to the rear, allowing the driver to easily load/unload two 20FT containers at the dock. This provides great efficiency for simultaneous loading and unloading, or for a combination journey with different addresses. With a MFCC HD, this is a more difficult task. If you need to unload two 20FT containers with this chassis, the front container will be positioned with the doors forward, making it more difficult for the driver to place it in front of a dock. The above does not apply if the entire container must be unloaded. Then both a MFCC HD and a 2CONnect can be used effectively.
MFCC HD stands for Multi-Functional Container Chassis Heavy Duty. This chassis can be extended so that you can transport any type of sea container. As a transporter, you often do not know what type of container you are going to transport. Then it is easy if you can simply send the driver on the road, knowing that he can take any type. This makes your company a lot more flexible and efficient and it is also a lot easier for the planner. or this reason, many rental companies choose the MFCC HD. Our MFCC is an HD, Heavy Duty, container chassis. This means that there is a special position for heavy 20FT containers so that the weight is ideally distributed. In addition, the tank position is standard and a genset can be mounted very easily.
Very heavy containers are often better transported on the 2CONnect. Because the 2CONnect has more axles, the pressure is better distributed over the axles and the neck. This creates the ideal weight distribution.

Tips when purchasing a container chassis
Cheap is often expensive…
Besides the curtainsider, the container chassis is the most frequently purchased trailer. Because of this, there are also many suppliers who offer them for sale. What should you pay attention to when you go to buy a container chassis?
The biggest pitfall is often to go straight for the cheapest chassis. Because every trailer looks almost the same when it is new. It is therefore advisable to look around at the different types of chassis that are already on the road. That way you will get a good impression of what a container chassis looks like after a number of years.
