Both family-owned companies, COLOSSUS Logistics and Broshuis share the same values: quality, reliability, and a passion for transport solutions. As a member of BigMove AG, COLOSSUS benefits from additional expertise and an extensive fleet. In 2023, they strengthened their fleet with two 2-axle SL2 low loaders from Broshuis. Now, they share their experiences with Broshuis and these trailers, which contribute to efficient and reliable transport on a daily basis.
COLOSSUS Logistics' first Broshuis trailer was a used 4-axle semi low loader, purchased more than 25 years ago. “I’m not exactly sure when the contact with Broshuis first started,” says Klaus Pietack (Managing Director). “It feels like I’ve always known Sascha Merhof (Broshuis Director DACH).” Over the years, the relationship between the two companies has evolved into a partnership defined by open communication, honest advice, and a strong focus on finding solutions. “We greatly appreciate that commitments are kept, but also that our wishes and suggestions for improvements are always taken into account."
Durable, powerful, efficient
In November 2023, COLOSSUS Logistics put two new 2-axle SL2 low loaders into service. These trailers feature a double extendable main beam, offering more than 17 meters of total bed length and an extremely low bed height of just 380 mm. After extensive use, the verdict is positive. “The trailers have proven to be extremely reliable. They effortlessly withstand daily transport challenges and perform excellently even under heavy conditions,” says Klaus. COLOSSUS is also satisfied with the performance of the Broshuis SL2 axles: “The axles are reliable, powerful, and perform excellently in daily use. Even compared to axles from other manufacturers, we see no disadvantages. They offer high load capacity, smooth driving behavior, and precise steering. Furthermore, they are maintenance-friendly and show little wear, making these axles an economical and practical choice for our fleet.”
The ease of use of the trailers is a major advantage when transporting items such as space modules, containers, installation parts, and agricultural machinery. “After a short familiarization period, the operation is straightforward, thanks to the wireless remote control. This contributes to efficient and safe deployment in our daily work,” emphasizes Klaus.
An investment that pays off
The 2-axle SL2 low loaders purchased by COLOSSUS have proven to be more than worth the investment. “Our expectations have not only been met but even exceeded. The performance of the trailers confirms that we made the right choice.” Driver Justin shares his experience: “The trailer drives great and is very reliable. If I had to mention something that could be improved, sturdier steps would make the trailer even better."
