Zwatra's first experiences
In October 2023, Zwatra Transport ordered three 2-axle pendular low loaders from Broshuis, which were delivered in July 2024. The low loaders have now been in use for four months, and the initial experiences have been positive. Zwatra Transport, part of the Boerman Group, specialises in exceptional transport across Europe and has a total of 10 Broshuis trailers in its fleet. The latest additions represent a significant enhancement of their transport capacity.
One of the first transports with the new low loaders was the delivery of a 5.5-meter-wide chalet from Brouwershaven to Abbenbroek. Due to the width of the load, ground clearance became even more critical when navigating roundabouts, verges, and curbs. The slim beams, measuring just 200 mm, and the fully remote-controlled hydraulic goose neck and axle assembly provided the driver with complete control over the ground clearance, both left and right, as well as the height of the load from his cabin. Control over the load and trailer by the driver and escorts is incredibly important in this line of work. At Broshuis, ease of use and safety are paramount; therefore, all our trailers are standard equipped with remote operation.
What makes the new low loaders special is their multifunctional use. In addition to chalets, they can also transport containers, steel structures, boats, and cable reels. For cable reels, the beams have been positioned inward so that the flanges of the reel sit beside the beams rather than on top, significantly reducing the transport height. This flexibility makes the Broshuis low loaders particularly well-suited for various transport tasks, something that Zwatra greatly appreciates.
The drivers at Zwatra praise the ease of use of the trailer. The hydraulic steering, combined with the remote control, allows for efficient and safe manoeuvring even in the most challenging conditions. This not only enhances safety but also ensures a smoother and quicker execution of the transport.
