Laja Speciál Trans Kft is a family-owned company with more than 30 years of experience in heavy haulage and exceptional transport. The Hungarian transport company has been working with Broshuis trailers for many years and currently operates three flatbed trailers with different axle configurations.
These trailers are primarily used for transporting long and heavy structures and play an important role in complex transport operations “The main reason for our investment was the need for trailers that would remain reliable over the long term. In our day-to-day operations, we simply cannot afford unexpected downtime or unplanned maintenance”, says owner István Laja (Owner).
Strong Return on Investment
According to István Laja, the value of a Broshuis trailer becomes clear in daily operation. The first flatbed trailer in the fleet is now almost twenty years old, is still used on a daily basis, and remains in excellent condition. “With regular servicing, central lubrication and careful handling, the condition of the trailer has remained consistent over the years. The quality of the corrosion protection is also still clearly visible.”
According to István, the investment has also proven its value through continued market interest. “Several parties have expressed interest in purchasing the trailer. That shows it continues to hold its value, even after many years of service.”
Control and Stability
A major advantage of the design is that the rear axle is positioned completely at the back and steers together with the lighting system and rear bumper. “This provides a more favourable weight distribution and reduces the risk of the rear bumper touching the ground under heavy operating conditions”, István explains. “When we purchased these trailers, this was not yet the industry standard, but over the years others have also recognised its advantages.”
When it comes to day-to-day performance, he is equally positive: “The trailers are stable and predictable in operation. We experience no side drift, play in the fifth wheel coupling, nor is there any need for constant readjustment. That makes our work safer, more efficient and easier to plan.”
A Transport Project of Exceptional Dimensions
One of Laja Speciál Trans’s most challenging projects was a transport operation near Lake Velence in Hungary. Several steel structures measuring 23 metres in length, 12 metres in width, and 4.5 metres in height were transported, with a total weight of 60 tonnes.
To ensure safe transportation, special HEB300 support beams were used for optimal weight distribution, while heavy-duty chains secured the cargo. The transport route included challenging road conditions, height restrictions, and a steep descent.
According to István, the quality of the trailer played a crucial role under these circumstances: “The stable and predictable behaviour of the trailer was essential for carrying out the transport safely and in a controlled manner.”
We would like to thank Laja Speciál Trans for their trust in our products and look forward to continuing this successful partnership.
