Last year, Broshuis delivered a number of heavy duty trailers to Mammoet (DK) in Brande, including a so-called 100-tonne trailer used to transport heavy wind turbine parts. This 3+7 pendular axle semi low loader provides great flexibility to Mammoet's fleet and also has a great load capacity.
Mammoet chose this 3+7 PL2 semi low loader because of its unique advantages. The heavy specialised transport market often prefers a low trailer where the loading floor is above the wheels. Thanks to the latest IT and production techniques, Broshuis has developed a semi with an incredibly low ride height of just 870 mm. In addition, the trailer has been made as light as possible, without compromising on strength or robustness. This is confirmed by the extensive testing of this series of semi low loader by the various Ministries of Defense, including those of the United States and Denmark. Thanks to these tests, the concept has been continuously developed and our trailer has become of exceptional quality.
Even while transporting a 95-tonne Vestas Nacelle from Ringkøbing to Esbjerg, this trailer shows its strength. Broshuis' PL2 pendular axle system distributes the axle pressure on each axle line very evenly over the road surface. This is evident when the trailer has to drive with a full load over a kerb or other inclined surface such as the outer edge of a roundabout.
The flexibility of this trailer was a major deciding factor in its purchase by Mammoet. For use with shorter loads, the dolly can be removed and to create a 7-axle semi low loader. An option that could be added later is the most recently developed Broshuis FLEX axle. This is a 1- or 2-axle bogie that you can connect between the dolly and the axle bogies if more weight needs to be transported. This option gives Mammoet even more opportunities for future expansion. After the first transports, Mammoet is very satisfied with the choice of this trailer!
